THE MOULIN ROUGE

For this Lovers' favourite, we went to meet Alida, night receptionist at the Walt Hotel. In this article, she invites us to discover the famous Moulin Rouge located in the lively Pigalle district.

Alida loves the Moulin Rouge

The Moulin Rouge is a Parisian institution. Founded in 1889, this Parisian cabaret was originally dedicated to popular entertainment. Located in a popular district of the time, it quickly became famous and inspired famous artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec and Renoir. After the 1950s, many singers performed there, such as Charles Aznavour and Charles Trenet. Today, it is one of the symbols of Paris and is one of the most photographed monuments in the capital.

Alida, like most people, knows the Moulin Rouge because of its fame. She has never had the opportunity to enter it, but confides that "it is something I would like to do soon". She would like to discover this place with a friend who would have the same idea as her: "enjoy a moment of relaxation in an enchanting setting".

« The fantasy behind the place »

Our Inwood Lover is very attracted to the Moulin Rouge on the one hand by its "history" and on the other hand by its "beauty". She exclaims: "I find the exterior very aesthetic, especially with the red, which is my favourite colour". The Moulin Rouge is not red by chance. When it was built, this colour was chosen, as Alida tells us, "to catch the eye of Parisians" and make the cabaret more attractive. This was a success, as for over 130 years the Moulin Rouge has continued to attract people from all over the world.

Alida advises us to go to the Moulin Rouge for its "extravagance". She knows that "every night there are magnificent performances" with feathers, sequins and champagne on the menu... This makes her even more eager to see what goes on inside. She dreams of going there to discover "the fantasy behind the place, with the shows and the French cancan".

If, like our Inwood Lover, you dream of spending a magical and unforgettable moment, you should go to the Moulin Rouge to admire one of their magnificent shows!
